Pattern anatomy

Converging lower highs and higher lows that show temporary balance without a predetermined direction.

Falling resistance + rising support; direction is defined by the confirmed boundary break.

How it works

Identify the prior trend first, mark repeated swing highs and lows, then draw only the support, resistance, or neckline justified by those pivots. A pattern remains provisional until price closes beyond its confirmation boundary; visual resemblance alone is not enough.

How to read it

Volatility contracts as buyers and sellers approach equilibrium. The breakout direction, not the triangle itself, supplies the directional information.

Confirmation checklist

Wait for price to choose a direction and close beyond the structure. Do not assign a bullish or bearish outcome while price remains inside the converging range.

Limitations and false signals

False breaks increase near the apex, where little room remains. Late entries often have poor reward relative to invalidation distance.
